I'm Laura Staley, owner of Green Iguana Bath, Hands-On Jax Artisan Community Classroom, and Bathdivas.com. I am so pleased that you have joined me on this incredible journey!
I started making soap 8 years ago (2014) to address the needs of my family. This led to that, more and more, until I leased my first commercial space in 2019, then opened a retail store in July 2020.
This is us. We have a big blended family, with Jimmy being our youngest. He's also one of the faces you'll see around the store, as he runs the shop when I am away at Riverside Arts Market, any of the local pop-ups. or travel events. I'm so grateful for his patient service. My husband Donald is the "Original Lizard" behind Green Iguana Bath, and the reason I started making soap in the first place. He's my biggest cheerleader!
I'm going to use this blog to record events and happenings around the store, the classroom, and some of the "what" and "why" we do what we do at Green Iguana Bath. Send me a message if you have any questions, or want to teach a class! Tickets and calendar are at https://www.handsonjax.com
I am passionate about small business, and I want to encourage people along that path. Hand-On Jax is the realization of the dream I've had to provide commercial space access for people whose businesses are done on the homefront, or who need tables and seating to accommodate a classroom-style workshop.
Stay tuned! We're just getting started! Stop by our store at 9889 San Jose Blvd., suite 2 in Jacksonville Florida for a tour, and we will dream about the possibilities together.
